Frédérick Douzet has been chairwoman of the Castex Chair of Cyber Strategy since February 2013 and is a Professor at the French Institute of Geopolitics at Paris 8 University. After studying political sciences at IEP in Grenoble and Oxford Brookes University, she obtained a diploma from the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley and completed a PhD in geopolitics under the supervision of Béatrice Giblin. She received several awards for her researches as the Institut Universitaire de France (2006-2011), France-Berkeley Fund Award for Outstanding Young Scholar (2014), Best paper award of the Urban Affairs Association (2009). She is currently researching geopolitical stakes in cyberspace, a subject she has been interested in since the 1990s. In 2014, she supervised a special issue of Hérodote dedicated to “Cyberspace: geopolitical issues”. For this book, she received the Cyber Book Award of outstanding reflection in 2015 at the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC).
